Chapter 76

They rode home in silence, both obviously feeling the effects of the day.

“You hungry?”

“I can eat again.”

“Let’s eat out. What do you feel like?”

“Fish?”

The way Noah scrunched up his face when asking had Mason wondering if he was thinking of the smell.

“Fish sounds great. There’s a little place out by the lake. They serve local catch as well as all the big ones.”

“Perfect.”

“Since we showered at the gym we could head right there, unless you want to go home and change.”

“Nope. I’m good to go.”

Mason turned the truck around. His stomach muscles tightened. What would they talk about at dinner?Noah seemed to be in such a good mood, Mason didn’t want to ruin it.

They arrived at the restaurant in minutes. The hostess sat them along the back wall with a view of the lake. Mason had forgotten how romantic the place could be. He hoped Noah wouldn’t have a problem being seen with Mason there.
