Damn, Tal was acting like me, which was a total bomb of a surprise that exploded between my temples, shocking me without any forewarning.
“I know that he owed me four thousand dollars for a bad deal. I trusted the kid and gave him a tab. That was my bad. The sonofabitch never paid it off. I should have known better. Doesn’t mean I killed him, though.”
I consumed what he said. Drugs, money, and users caused horrible problems in any situation and those lives involved. If Evan owed me four thousand dollars, I may have also branded and killed him.
Max had more to say than what I thought, “Myer Colt. That’s who you need to talk to. I’m not telling you anything more, because it’s none of my business. But he’s the guy with the answers. Chat it up with him. You’ll learn what you need to learn.”
