“How do your wounds feel, Dan?”

Fargo said, “Horrible. As I said, Brent Trigger pistol-whipped me.”

“But your jaw isn’t broken, right?”

“My jaw is not broken.”

Cutter interrupted with, “Brent Trigger’s a monster. He shot Dan for Chrissake!”

And Kitty hollered out, “Edit!”

Cutter said, “The man belongs behind bars. He’s dangerous. If he can arrange two arsons, what else does he have the potential to do?”

Silence. Kitty looked down at her notes, scanned them, lifted her head, and asked, Chip, “How in love are you with the man at your side?”

“With all my heart. He’s the only man for me. I think that maybe Brent Trigger was a good man at one time, and had the opportunity to keep this great guy, but Brent blew his shot at it. I have Dan in my life for a reason and I don’t intend to give him up. Love will keep us together.”
