He growled. Now what the shit am I supposed to do? Say abracadabra?He wiggled his fingers. “Be gone!”

The log remained just as before.

Now what the hell?He’d never tried to channel the energy, only to direct it somewhere safe when it built to a critical level. This was the first time he’d actively called the energy, absorbed it, and tried to blast something with it.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t working.

The beast hissed his displeasure. Try focusing on your target, asshole. Visualize.

Mitch did just that. He drew in a deep breath, gathered the energy, then raised his arms. They began to shake. He threw them downward, pushing everything he had along with the movement. Lightning danced over and through his body. Sparks flashed around him. “Foxtrotting fudge sticks!”
