Chapter 22

Kirk bolted upright right before Felix heard a crash from the upper floor. “Wait here.”

“What?” Why would Felix wait when there was something in his house?

“Stay here, love. I’ll take care of it. I’m sure it’s a bird who has gotten in through the balcony door. We’ll scare it if both of us run up.” Kirk gave him a quick peck on the lips and stalked toward the stairs. Felix followed, but Kirk stopped and gave him a look.

“Fine.”

Grinning, Kirk pulled him close. The heat of his body made Felix weak in the knees. He smelled so damn good, he wanted to climb him, and Felix was not a climber—he wasn’t. He was always calm and controlled in a…relationship, not that he’d had many, but he didn’t want to come across as needy.

Walking them a step back until Felix’s back hit the front door, Kirk bent down and captured his lips in a scorching kiss. Heat rushed to Felix’s groin, and he whimpered.
