“I’m going home with Adam.”
“I heard you were staying with Tiny. This is why you got hurt,” Margarita said. “Come home with us. There is better security in Forbes Park.”
Erwin popped in with a tray with four cups of coffee. “Master Adam had to leave. He told me he told his supervisor and now he is being directed to report to his gunnery sergeant.”
“Does that mean he’s in trouble?” Jojo asked. “Why would they order him to go back to the embassy? He’s not scheduled to go on shift until tomorrow morning.”
Erwin shrugged. “I don’t know.”
Jojo searched for his phone and pulled it out. But the screen had cracked, and it wouldn’t turn on. “I must have somehow fallen on it.”
“Erwin, can I use your phone?”
“Sure, Master Jojo.” Erwin stepped close to Jojo and handed him the cell. Jojo dialed Adam’s number but got his voice mail. Then he texted him to call Erwin’s cell.
“Don’t you have an old cell phone or two at the house, Jojo? I know you’ve had a few.” His mother held Jojo’s hand.
