Preston and Sawyer were waiting for me when I stepped out of the office. Their SUV was parked nearby, and Preston leaned his back against it, cradling Sawyer in his arms. Preston’s hands drew circles on Sawyer’s back and his mouth moved, but I couldn’t hear what he was saying.
My arms ached with emptiness. I needed to be there with them, and my feet moved by their own volition, quickly eating up the distance between us.
Preston gave me a weak smile when he saw me, then they were in my arms. I cupped Preston’s neck, lay the other hand on Sawyer’s hip, and plastered my front against his back.
Sawyer whimpered and melted against me. Preston slid his arm around my waist and tugged me closer.
“Hi,” I mumbled and kissed Preston. A wave of longing washed over me as my lips touched his, and I wanted to grab them both and drag them to the boat and never let go.
When we parted, I nuzzled my nose into Sawyer’s temple. “Hej hj?rtat,” I whispered.
