Chapter 71

“So? How’s it going there?”

“Good. I just helped my dad shovel the snow from the road to our house, or else tomorrow we wouldn’t be able to go into town. My mother is preparing dinner and my brother is annoying as always.”

Sean has a little brother who always hangs around him when he’s home and, even if he complains, he loves him deeply.

“What are you doing?” he asks, chewing something. Maybe his mother’s cookies. He says they’re delicious.

“Apart from still staring at that strange Santa Claus? Nothing. I’m in my room, alone, and waiting for Patrick to pick me up to take me to the doctor’s office.”

“Should I get worried that you keep looking at that strange Santa? Is it a kink? Because, if you want, when we get back I could wear red and a fake white beard.”
