Chapter 54

“Does the owner want us to use the manufacturer’s part or the cheaper option?”

Dean jumped, recoiled, and almost shrunk down before he recognised Mark. The man’s annoying habit of getting into everyone’s face, encroaching into personal space, couldn’t have occurred at a worse time. Mark’s expression remained open, but he lifted his chin, raised an eyebrow, and scanned Dean to his toes and back up again. Did his lips twitch? Dean should berate him for coming round to the wrong side of the desk, but couldn’t summon the energy. He concentrated on Mark’s question.

“The cheap option.” He made a show of putting a file away in a drawer, forcing Mark out of the way.

Instead of leaving, Mark planted his arse on the corner of Dean’s desk. “Thank God it’s almost Friday.”
