Trailing his fingers in the water, Dean followed the pattern of the ripples. “I still like women, and I’ve…seen things with men, but I’ve never acted on my feelings. I don’t know as I ever would have, if not for you. You seem to be pretty much where my emotions begin and end.”

The single syllable might mean a thousand things. Maybe Dean’s confession raised more questions than it solved.

“I rather think I’d like to get out now,” Jay said, voice soft.
