They sipped the thick, rich beverage, pausing to contemplate the events of the day. “So,” Marco asked finally, breaking the silence, “have you thought any more about moving up here with me?”
“Well, yes. But nothing has come through on a job transfer yet.”
“What about hiring a job hunter to help you find something up here?”
“I suppose. But that can be pretty expensive. I’m not sure my budget would allow it.”
“There are some expenses you wouldn’t have if you were living in my house with me. Rent, for example. That would save you a big chunk.”
“I know. But I would simply have to share the house expenses with you. I wouldn’t feel right about just living with you for free.”
Marco took Dean’s hand. “Honey,” he said, “I love you. I don’t give a shit about that. I just want you with me. All the time. The finances will work out. It’s just the utilities and the taxes on the house. They aren’t that much.”
