“I guess so.” Noah looked at the mark. “I’m sorry I had to hurt you to find out.”
“It is of no consequence.”
Acting on an odd impulse, Noah took his hand and lifted it, kissing the burn mark gently. Gabe’s hand was cool, the same way Jack’s always were, and he drew in a soft, sudden breath, almost a gasp, as Noah kissed it. “Thank you all the same,” Noah said softly.
“I…ah…you are welcome.” Gabe’s cheeks were slightly pink, and Noah smiled at him, feeling himself blushing, too, but not really minding. He found the thought of his fantasy about being between Gabe and Jack floating through his mind yet again, and at this point it seemed not only possible, but inevitable.
So he kissed Gabe’s hand again before letting it fall. Then with a smile he added, “Now I need to make dinner again. And after that we can go over to your place, and maybe watch a movie together? Jack said he hadn’t seen a few of my favorites and I know at least some of them are on Netflix.”
