When PI Jake Marshall fails to stop the abduction and subsequent murder of a client who was being stalked, he vows to do everything in his power to identify the man responsible. Stalker

It was Russ, as he found out when he opened the apartment door, accompanied by Detective Ogden.


“I presume you’ve got some news about Fabian,” Jake said to Ogden as he stepped aside to let them in.


“We’re still pulling everything together but we have learned a few verifiable facts.” Ogden sniffed. “I’m interrupting your dinner.”


“It can wait.” Jake gestured toward the sofa. “Have a seat and tell us what you do know.” As Ogden crossed the room, Jake whispered to Russ, “I’ve been cleared for active duty.”


Russ grinned. “Starting as soon as we’ve eaten supper?”


“Well, maybe we should let it digest, first?”


At that point, they joined Ogden, Jake on the other end of the sofa, Russ in the lone armchair across from them.
