Not that he didn’t enjoy what he was doing. Jordan loved working on engines, and there was a particular satisfaction in servicing the big equipment used in construction. Every day brought him the gratification of a job well done. He didn’t regret taking the position at all, and he was glad he hadn’t had to leave Oregon. It was his home, and even though he was on the other side of the state, at least he was still inside it. Oregon was in his blood. It was who he was.
He just missed Beckett.
