“Not to state the obvious, but that sucks,” Buck said. “On the other hand, if we do get lucky, we may be able to tell himwho hired the killer.” He grinned. “That would probably frost his ass.”

Mika snickered. “It might.”

“Now…” Buck wrapped Mika in a tight embrace. “Back to what I was going to do before he called.” With that, he kissed him.

Mika responded, deepening it, until he knew if it continued it would lead to something more. Not that he objected on an emotional level, but rationally he knew they’d be pushing limits before it was time to. He broke away, panting, took a deep breath and said, “You’re damned good at that.”

Buck looked amused, replying, “I could say lots of practice, but it wouldn’t be true. Generally I’m not a guy who kisses…ever. To me it means a kind of commitment I’ve never been willing to make…until now.”
