Chapter 11

“I don’t want you because I owe you, which I do, even if you don’t think I do. I want you because you’re handsome and kind. Tonight started out sucking, but then I met you, and even though you’re a vampire, this is the nicest, most normal night I’ve had in years. I want a night where I can just be normal. I want to be able to sleep with a guy just because I want to,” Noel says firmly.

“You’re a weird guy if you think hooking up with a vampire is a normal night. And you mentioned the beating. Are you even up to this? Up to more than kissing? I don’t want to hurt you by touching you.” Wyatt can be gentle; he’s been with humans before without hurting them. But he’s strong, and Noel’s already injured.

“I’m a little sore, and one of my knees really hurts. But I don’t think it’ll hold me back. I’d tell you if you hurt me.” Noel takes hold of Wyatt’s free hand, stroking over Wyatt’s fingers with his own slightly callused fingertips.
