“You’re upsetting my friends.” Tucker turned in their direction. “It’s okay, Penny.”
“Perhaps your raised voice—”
“Don’t you tell me…!” Tucker stuck a wet finger in Chad’s face. Penny screeched again. “I’m sorry, Penny. Tell her another story, Olivia. Everything’s fine here.”
Another strong gust from the hurricane nearly drowned out Tucker’s soothing words, not really delivered in much of a comforting tone. “I have things to do, Chad,” Tucker told him. “You see them over there—Penny, Olivia, and the others. I actually care about what happens to them. I think it’s time we all move to a safer spot. We—them and me—not you. I don’t care what happens to you. Just get out.”
“How do you know who I am?” Chad asked.
