“I got to protest some more. Not protest, always, but speak up. Sometimes it was just a speech or whatever. I never sang in front of people again, but I talked. At college, there was a gay group. And to this day, I speak up when and where I can. I plan on doing that as long as I can. Someday, hopefully, I won’t have to.”

Chad took a hold of him as they walked. The dress shoes were still an issue. “But so many people are cool with me being what and who I am. People that matter. Lots of people who don’t matter aren’t. And a few that do…”
