When Cameron had finished three passes with the sage bundle, Reid took a huge gasp of air and sat up. His brown eyes were wild with fear and panic as he clutched at the fire poker Cameron had given him.
Both Cameron and Jason dropped back to the floor to help him, each on a different side. They each took an arm and helped Reid up to the couch. “How do you feel?” Cameron asked, crouching down to get a good look at Reid’s face. “How’s your vision? Your hearing?”
Reid gulped a couple of times before he nodded, like he was trying to reassure himself of what was real. “Vision’s fine, as long as there’s just one Jason,” he said. His voice sounded a little weak to Cameron, but that was understandable under the circumstances. “I don’t think the world needs more than that. Hearing’s fine.” He shuddered. “I’m a little chilly. Head hurts.”
