Chapter 31

Cameron ran home. He wasn’t psychic, no matter what Reid had tried to push at him the other day. The feeling of the stranger’s eyes on him that followed him all the way home was just Cameron overreacting to another break in his routine, another deviation from his normal. That was all. Maybe the stranger was someone he’d seen around town, or someone his grandfather had known when he’d been a kid. This wasn’t something to be concerned about.

Jason was up when he got back, waiting with coffee. “You run every morning?” he asked, shaking his head. “Weirdo.”

Cameron stared at him for a second. “Seriously?” He shook his head. “Just for that, I’m not showering until after coffee.”

Jason made a face. “You do realize that a werewolf’s nose is like six thousand times more sensitive than a human’s, right?”

Cameron grinned at him, showing teeth. “That thought had occurred to me.” He poured himself a fresh mug and sat down. “I take it that Reid’s not an early riser?”
