After Reid had gone through Cameron’s entire side of the duplex, basement to attic, with the burning sage, the atmosphere seemed to have lightened considerably and Cameron felt comfortable going to bed. He bid his companions good night and retreated to his room and lay down.
Jason’s gentle touch, leading him away from that bloody mirror, had shocked him. He hadn’t thought that the smirking, sometimes nasty werewolf had the capacity for that level of kindness. Jason probably did that kind of thing all the time, though. Cameron could imagine Jason corralling hysterical witnesses, holding onto them with gentle arms until they were calm and capable of dealing with whatever horrors they’d just witnessed.
