Chapter 34

No one wants to see those scars, Cameron. Why do you think your father doesn’t want to see you anymore? He knows what a dirty little boy you are.

Jason’s eyes were riveted to Cameron’s skin, and even though it made him blush Cameron was glad of it. Look, he can see everything now, or at least guess. Stop thinking about him like he’d want you, he ordered his body, in a thought that stabbed. “And Catherine?”

“Said she was very sorry, and she wouldn’t allow someone like him to watch her precious children again.” Cameron rolled his eyes. “Plenty of kids had worse; it was Catherine’s first time through the system and the child protective system’s first goal is to keep families together. It’s not like they wantto put kids in foster care. And everyone knows that boys can be kind of out of control sometimes.” He took a deep breath. “So. Anyway. He did time for it. Didn’t see or hear from him again until last night.”

Reid drank from his coffee. “Did you know that he was psychic?”
