Chapter 62

“Before you leave, though, I want you to knock on the door and ask to speak to Mr. Reid. That’s the man with the dark, curly hair.” Cameron’s mind raced. “He’ll know what to do about the woman in the mirror.”

“Not your boyfriend?” Ali’s voice was perfectly innocent.

“Mr. Jason’s not my boyfriend.” Cameron kicked himself for the little pang that he felt when the words came out of his mouth.

“That’s not what the mirror woman says.” Ali cleared his throat. “But I’m going to go get my mom. Thanks, Mr. Cameron.” Ali hung up.

Cameron stared at the phone for a second. Why was Catherine menacing the neighbors? Her beef was with Cameron. He guessed that she’d messed with them before, when she’d made the faucets bleed. Whatever. He’d have to go give her another push.

He sent Reid a text, warning him about the impending visit from Ali and that he was on his way back. Then he packed up his belongings and left.
