He so desperately wanted to recreate that feeling. Well, maybe not the sadness that came with Evan reliving his parents’ tragic end, but definitely the sharing of space and body warmth.

“I do notlook like that guy.” Evan pointed at the television, pulling Lucas out of his fantasy of cuddling with Evan.

“How can you not see it? You look exactly like Julius.”

“How do you figure?” Evan arched an eyebrow.

“Here, look at me.”

Lucas carefully removed Evan’s eyeglasses and stared into his warm brown eyes. This was the first time Lucas was truly seeing them, without a barrier disguising Evan’s emotions.

They locked gazes, Lucas hoping he was conveying the depth of his feelings wordlessly to Evan.

Gently stroking the delicate skin above Evan’s cheekbone, Lucas whispered, “Stray eyelash.” Showing Evan the rogue lash he swiped on his thumb, Lucas husked, “Make a wish.”
