It was all Emmett could do not to grab Andrewe by his shoulders and drag him from the tub. “My apologies, your Highness. Allow me to restate the question then. What game is this? Do you seek to purposefully anger me by bringing my charge to your bath?”

“He is not your charge any longer,” Andrewe stated simply.

“You are mistaken, your Highness,” Emmett hissed. “When I told you he was my charge that meant for life. I, unlike some, understand the value of friendship and responsibility and I take that very seriously.”

Andrewe’s eyes flew open and he glared at Emmett. “Don’t hide your meanings behind things half spoken, friend. What are you accusing me of?”

“Why was the boy in your bath?”

Andrewe held his gaze with as much fury as Emmett knew he held in his own. “He was attending me.”

“Why?”

“Why not?”
