But now that he was “single,” I guess Eve decided it was a good time to let Kellan and Maxine spend some time together. There was one question looming on my mind, but I didn’t dare ask it now. Kellan looked too happy, and I didn’t want to spoil it.

“Well, after Eve and I split, she knew I had thoughts about men, but I never did anything about it until now.”


“Yes, because of Leah. I thought that perhaps I was just fooling myself, but no, I wasn’t. I loved Leah, and I tried to make it work, but she just became so impossible. That’s why Eve kept Max away. But anyways, I don’t think Eve would have a problem with you. You’re nothing like Leah, and Eve isn’t a homophobe.”
