“You better hurry. I can feel myself drifting off into sleepy land.” I nuzzled against his chest some more, trying to shake the feeling that he was going to give me bad news.
“It’s about Max’s visit. Eve isn’t too sure we should be so open about us yet with her. Having her dad marry another woman is one thing, but being with a guy? Eve thinks it might be too much to handle all at once.” Kellan kept stroking my hair as he spoke, but his tone was dead serious.
“Do you agree with her?”
“I do. I mean, not one hundred percent, but I can see where she is coming from. Please understand that I’m not ashamed of us, it’s just that I almost lost Max ‘cause of Leah, and I don’t want to risk losing her all over again.” I looked up at Kellan, who was eagerly awaiting my response.
