Oliver shook his head, confused. “But you won’t have, though. All you’ll have been is past it.”
Boyd sighed. The kid just didn’t catch the concept, obviously. “The road trip is what’s important. Not the destinations.”
“No way, man. That makes no sense. Let’s go in,” Oliver urged. “I’ll even wait out here if you can’t afford the extra. I don’t mind. But, dude, don’t drive all this way through the desert and not have a look around.”
Oliver gave him a quick grin. “Just think, if you’d only driven through Vegas I wouldn’t be sitting here.”
