“You need to care for Mitch. And have a shower or bath. She scratched you pretty badly, too. You need to get those treated. She won’t infect you with anything, but in this humid environment you can’t afford to take chances. I shouldn’t be kept away too long. We have the guilty party. I just need to pass her into other hands.”
“What will happen to her?” Ryker asked.
“Depends. If she hadn’t tried to attack you, a human, she would probably be sent for straightforward rehabilitation. To become accustomed to what she is and how to control it. But what she did here was a premeditated attack, and she intended to permanently remove you as a rival for me. That makes her dangerously unpredictable. She’ll probably be moved to a secure facility. She’s proven herself to be a danger to us and to humankind. But don’t worry. We have such facilities on islands. She’ll have a luxurious life and plenty of freedom, within the confines of the island. But I doubt she’ll ever be freed.”
