Frantic, his gaze darted to the rearview mirror as he hit the lock button, afraid they may have followed him home. He’d met Bigfoot, not Santa. Sweat dotted his upper lip and Keston licked it away, its saltiness reminding him of Ness’s lips. Ness, he knows! He expected him, tried to warn me off…Is he…Keston’s fear jumped another notch as he speculated what sort of…creature Ness must be, and oh gee golly, they’d kissed! At this point it was safe to say he started hyperventilating, more scared than he’d been at his grandma’s house when the afternoon sky turned dark and sinister, the tornado sirens going off and grandma ushering them to the basement as the wind picked up.

Staying another night went out the window. How could he stay knowing they were out there, able to break in and end his…Keston banished the thought. A reasonable voice whispered at him, trying to get his attention and being overridden by adrenaline. He checked the mirror again.
