Chapter 55

They walked to the office and got coffee. Then they settled in and called the meeting. Lennon called an early meeting, which Ben figured was petty on his part because champagne hangovers were a bitch. Rada and Townsend sauntered in at the same time, and Townsend’s eyes definitely had that bloodshot look to them.

“Thanks for joining me,” Lennon said, in a slightly louder voice than normal. That wasn’t necessary. Ben had to shake his head at Lennon’s minor cruelty. “I think that we need to establish certain guidelines and limits right now, to make sure we’re all on the same page. Does that seem reasonable to you?”

Townsend took a deep, shuddering breath. His skin had a distinctly gray tone to it, and Ben made sure the trash barrel was nearby. “I definitely think we need to establish some ground rules.”
