“Thank you so much. I’ll sign off on the necessary paperwork and return these to you as soon as possible.” He smiled and let Ben herd him away.

“I don’t like the look of those cardiac folks.” Ben glowered. “For one thing, their science is all fake.”

“No wonder their booth is empty.” Lennon followed his lover through the convention floor and back toward the elevators. He’d done what he’d come here to do. The rest, even his speech, was gravy.28

The team decided to use the front room of Lennon’s suite as a war room, because it meant less exposure of Lennon to potential harm. Not that Lennon seemed at all concerned about exposure to harm. No, Lennon seemed to be perfectly content to go wandering around a crowded convention floor with exactly one agent to protect him, chatting up every Tom, Dick, and Harry who might have something to say.
