A world without Lennon wasn’t a world Ben wanted to live in.

They parked the car on Lexington and went in on foot. No one noticed. Agency body armor was carefully designed to blend in, and despite the wild stories people told about New York City, actually witnessing shootouts or raids in the middle of midtown Manhattan was fairly rare. Ben found his focus narrowing, just as it should. His training was kicking in and he was able to think only about the final outcome now.

The string of tenements owned by Shell Corp was large, but Velasko and Hartswell were able to narrow it down. Only one of them had heavy canvas blocking the basement windows. It seemed like a sloppy mistake to Ben, but since when had the Russians decided to consult him? They’d been working on short notice. They had to improvise.
