Chapter 23

His long strides ate up the few yards to Grady’s door. The fact that it was closed didn’t slow him down.

Grady looked up when he stormed inside, but the smile he wore faded almost right away. Tossing the pen he held onto his blotter, he leaned back in his chair, all too comfortable, all too smug. “Having second thoughts about Saturday?”

“You are such an asshole. You’re a bigger asshole than I had initially assumed, and quite frankly, nobody could accuse me of underestimating that.”

“I’m an asshole for wanting to raise some real money for a change? How does that work?”
