In spite of that, I stifled a yawn.
“Mr. Cameron is right, sir,” the servant said. “It’s better you don’t go to bed right now.”
“Thank you.” I accepted my swim trunks from the young man.
“You’ll find towels in the bath.” He gestured toward a door I’d assumed was a closet.
“Thank you,” I said again.
He smiled and left, and I went into the adjoining bathroom to change into my trunks. When I came out, Cam was waiting, lounging on my bed.
I couldn’t help wondering if that was what the servant had been warning me about.
But Cam rose gracefully, his action emphasizing his lean body length. “What’s that?” He caught my wrist and touched the amber worry beads I wore around it.
“Good luck charm.”
“It’s kind of girly, don’t you think?”
“I don’t think, but even if it was, it’s my choice.”
“I didn’t mean to offend you.” He gave me a charming smile. “Shall we go?”
And fortunately, I didn’t fall asleep in the pool.
