The time passed more quickly than I’d expected, and all too soon, my visit to South Africa began drawing to a close; I’d only be here for another week, although not in Mr. Halliwell’s cottage. I was already packed and planned to have his chauffeur drive me back to Pretoria, where I’d take a hotel room and spend the week before my flight putting my notes in order. I was going to miss the lungfish I’d studied, but I was looking forward to returning home and sharing the knowledge I’d garnered with my colleagues at the lab and in the scientific community.
