Well, Rory did at least know that Libs still needed him in order to find out why he was here.
This was an incredibly perilous game he was playing, if that were the case, trusting that Libs would hold to a promise to a thug like Jane. It was baffling. This man was ridiculous. He was brave to the point of idiocy.
The worse part was, Rory wasperfectly safe. Libs didn’t feel even a niggling need to sink his fangs into Rory’s exposed skin, and there was a lot of it spread underneath him. He couldn’t kill the Ranger even if he wanted to, which he didn’t. Libs wasn’t going to take him to Jane either, even though he should. There was just something fascinating about Rory, a mystery there to unravel, one he couldn’t resist
He was supposed to be a villain! What was wrong with him?
Whatever the answer, this was most certainly not good. 5: Taking Sides
