Sterling yawned a little. “I think I will.”


“Go ahead. I’ll be right here with you.”


After that, Sterling shut his eyes. Many things filled his mind. He was relieved to have survived the attempt on his life, and he was grateful to have someone loyal and caring like Zeke by his side. He thought it might be a while before he could doze off, but he must be more exhausted than he realized. The last thing he remembered was the feeling of Zeke’s hand on his own.
