Especially since they arrived and departed at weird hours. Ken kept her bedroom door locked at night as a precaution. She may not have been in danger at the club, but here? No reason to take any chances.

During the last night, at around two in the morning, Kenna got up to get a drink from the kitchen. She took a handgun with her. On her way back, she noticed a pair of legs dangling off of the couch, which faced away from her. It wasn’t unusual for members of the network to crash anywhere they could when they were traveling. She told herself to hurry back to her room.

But her feet didn’t listen, and the temptation was just too much. She quietly and cautiously tiptoed over to the sleeping housemate and looked down.

And immediately drew her gun.
