“This is the kind of stuff that’s gonna keep happening so long as people are using magic,” Kenna said without looking at Yuuki. “The weather’s all messed up. It should be snowing here or just plain freezing. But instead, they’re up to their necks in tainted rain water and some disease. They probably don’t even know the first thing about combating it.” She cleared her throat. “This isn’t a direct magic attack. It’s just a side effect. Like the break-ins and shit. Normal, average people going crazy.”


Yuuki gulped. When Kenna stole a quick look, she saw that Yuki’s eyes were wide and fearful. “Shouldn’t the military be here or something? The CDC?”
