Chapter 64

The moment they’d had earlier in the bedroom was different than anything he’d ever experienced. There had been an intimacy between them that had been tender and yet so strong, he’d felt it in his soul.

Lance rested his hand on Wade’s thigh, and Casey rolled his eyes. Wade was pleased to see Allyson slap his arm and whisper for him to behave.

The room smelled of pine and the tree looked fresh, the branches relaxed and ready to be dressed in all its holiday finery. Casey had already strung the multi-colored lights on the tree and Landon had popped the tops of all the tubs from the basement.

“Can we start?” Casey looked at Allyson, as if she were in charge.

“Yes. Everybody grab some ornaments and start decorating,” she ordered. Apparently she wasin charge.

Wade rose and stretched, stifling a yawn. That nap had been great, but he was still tired. He glanced down at Lance and frowned. “Don’t you want to decorate?”

Lance nodded, but still hesitated.

“What’s wrong?”
