It wasn’t that big of a deal. Gage repeated that to himself again and again, trying to calm his raging nerves. No matter how many times he wiped his palms off on his pants, he couldn’t dry them. No matter how much water he downed, he couldn’t moisten his dry lips. There were only a handful of people in, and Mindy, the hostess, assured him the dinner rush didn’t actually start rushing until closer to eight. It was almost seven. Almost time for him to go over to the small stage and start singing.
