Chapter 44

“Any thoughts on where you want to go for dinner?” he asked.

“I’m pretty beat. I was thinking room service and a movie on HBO or something.”

“What happened to my concert?”

“Come have dinner with me and I’ll perform for you after the movie.”

Though he would have been more than happy to go out, the thought of getting to relax the rest of the night with Gage as company blew any other option out of the water. “You’re on, then.” 10

This time, Christopher showered. He countered how ridiculous he felt about it—this was not a date, and boy, was he glad Rev wasn’t around to laugh at his ass now—by pulling on the sweats he slept in and leaving his hair damp. Completely casual. He didn’t even bother with shoes as he stepped across the hall and knocked on the door.

Gage didn’t answer immediately, and when the door finally opened, he wasn’t smiling. “Hey, come on in. I haven’t had the chance to call down and order anything yet.”
