“Here, baby. Take my handkerchief.” Mindy glared at me. “You’re nothing but a meanie, Kipp Llewellyn!”

I began to laugh uncontrollably. Was that even my name?

“What’s going on, Kipp?”

“You set me up. Hyde isn’t going to want to marry me now. Why should he? You wrote up a contract that said in exchange for cash and incidentally marrying Sir’s son, Hyde got half the shares of Llewellyn, Inc. But I’m fucking not Sir’s son!”

“What are you talking about? Of course you are. All I put in the contract was that after a year if you wanted to walk away, you could, with no repercussions. Wyndham got a prorated amount of his money back, and you got control of your trust fund.”

“Oh, yeah? And what about the clause about it being okay for either of us to break our marriage vows?”

“I put that in there to—”

“Tempt him? Sure, why not?” I asked bitterly. “What man would want to stay faithful to Marcus Llewellyn’s son?”
