“We should sleep,” Ulissa said. “The toxins will wear off in the night, and by tomorrow, we’ll be able to get a move on.”
They still didn’t have a plan to get back to the flats, though, but that would come later. With a sigh, Yaliana closed her eyes. The sounds of the jungle filtered into the cave, and she could hear the rustling of Ulissa settling in. After a few moments, Yaliana felt the weariness of the day steal upon her, and she fell asleep.

She woke up to it being far too warm, and with the sensation of being pressed up against a large body. At first, she thought that perhaps it was Ulissa, but that was unlikely, not to mention this body radiated heat. A moment later, the pungent stench hit her. It was a creature, and it was in the cave with them, sleeping.
