Staying behind him approximately thirty feet, I made my way through the wooded area. Rain splashed against my forehead and cheeks. After lowering the cap’s beak, blocking some of the minor pour, I saw Code stop in the distance, resting. I, too, stopped walking, keeping my view on his hunchbacked frame. A second turned into fifteen seconds as we both took breathers on the pathway. Thereafter he continued walking and I took pursuit, far too interested in his escapade and exactly where his travels would take him/me.
