Although Travis has no contract with Niko, they share an unshakable bond built on friendship, loyalty, and trust. But their bond is put to the ultimate test when something dark and sinister threatens their community and their lives. “So, where’ve Decker and Scarlet been, then?” he asked as he worked. “Haven’t seen them around much.” Jack added a teasing grin when he looked up at Travis. “Have they gone on vacation without you?”


Decker and Scarlet were two of Travis’s oldest friends. They’d all met in primary school when they were chosen to work in a group together and got along famously right from the start. When Niko came along, they simply made room for him, their hearts unfurling and adding another to their group.


“Mm-mm.” Travis took a bite of his sandwich. “They’re off on a job for some bridge-builder who’s having trouble with sirens in the area.”
