“Well, whatever.” Thankfully, she decided to drop it, perhaps sensing that I was unwilling to give her any more information. “So have you gotten confirmation on our hotel reservation yet?”


“Yes, we’re all set,” I answered, glad to change the subject. “We arrive midafternoon on Saturday for two weeks. We come back on a Sunday. By then it will be March. Hopefully, winter will be just about over.”


“Yes, I’m so looking forward to that. Two weeks less of winter for us. Right now, we’re stuck in the third week of January. Thank God we have something to look forward to. Will the weather in Malaga have warmed up yet? It’s a lot farther south than Paris.”


“Well, it will definitely be warmer than here. I don’t think we’ll be doing too much lounging on the beach. But I hear the shopping is to die for.”


“Sounds good to me. Maybe I’d better consider bringing an extra suitcase!”
