At least Chancellor Clarke was being cautious and keeping a few guards close by. He was a stubborn man and refused to segregate himself from any official function, but he wasn’t foolhardy. His personal security wasn’t letting anyone close who wasn’t approved. Pyrahni needed to touch someone to do the most damage. Otherwise, they at least needed to have sight of their victims. Nick wasn’t so sure demons were hindered in the same way. There was too little information on them, and the sources he did have often contradicted each other.
