“You’re not a cop,” Dustin points out.
“Neither are you, but that doesn’t stop you from showing up at crime scenes. But I’m working with the police as a consultant,” Ronan tells him, taking a seat.
The woman takes the other seat. “I’m Detective Hicks. Ronan told me he’d already met you.” Detective Hicks smiles.
“And what did he have to say?” Dustin asks her, but he’s looking at Ronan, trying to get the measure of this guy.
“That you might be the real deal, so I’m coming in here open-minded. Doesn’t mean I’m a believer though. I’ve never met a real psychic, but there are cops who vouch for you. So convince me.” Detective Hicks raises her eyebrow. Dustin knows he splits opinion in the police force and some people won’t even admit to using his help unless they have to.
“You’ve looked into me,” Dustin guesses, because that is the only way for them to know he’s worked with other police before. It’s not like Dustin told Ronan.
“Yes, I had someone look into you,” Ronan confirms.
